Budimex ends contract in Slovakia after finishing project
Budimex has completed its first project in Slovakia, delivering a major highway interchange near Bratislava at the junction of the D1 and D4 roads. The investment, one of Slovakia’s key infrastructure projects, opened 90 days ahead of schedule and will redirect regional and international traffic before it enters the capital, reducing congestion and heavy vehicle traffic in Bratislava. The project, worth EUR 110.85 million, included the modernization of more than 5 km of the D1 highway, 18 bridges, eight new connecting roads, and acoustic screens.
One of the biggest challenges was raising the level of Slovakia’s busiest highway while keeping it open to traffic. Budimex now hopes to win further contracts in Slovakia.
