China overtakes Germany as largest supplier of goods to Poland
Poland recorded a current account deficit of PLN 10.4 bln in July 2026, according to the National Bank of Poland. Exports rose 12% y/y to PLN 135.5 bln, while imports increased 14.3% to PLN 143.5 bln, producing an PLN 8.0 bln goods deficit. Computer equipment remained the strongest export category, reaching a record value, while automotive and furniture exports declined. Import growth was driven mainly by investment goods, computer equipment, passenger cars and durable consumer products.
For the first time, China overtook Germany as Poland’s largest goods supplier. Services generated an PLN 11.8 bln surplus, while the primary income balance remained negative at PLN 12.9 bln.
