Chinese cars make inroads in Polish market with estimated 700,00 new cars registered
Poland’s car market is heading for a record-breaking year, with nearly 700,000 new vehicle registrations expected, surpassing the historic peak from 1999. Preliminary data suggest that 2025 will close with over 640,000 registrations, up about 6% y/y, and growth is forecast to continue in 2026. According to Superauto.pl, registrations could reach 680–690 thousand, or even exceed 700 thousand in an optimistic scenario. A key driver is the rapid expansion of competitively priced Chinese brands, which are attracting buyers who previously opted for used cars and putting strong downward pressure on prices.
Falling interest rates, lower financing costs, and intensified competition are expected to lead to a 5–7% drop in transaction prices in 2026, further boosting demand from both private buyers and corporate fleets.
