Contracts for production and service of K2 tanks signed in Poland
Companies from Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have signed subcontracting agreements with Hyundai Rotem to produce and service K2 tanks in Poland. The deals cover assembly, maintenance, and adaptation of the vehicles to Polish military requirements, including work on the K2PL variant and support vehicles.
The agreements include cooperation with Polish firms such as Bumar-Łabędy, PCO, and Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne, and provide for technology transfer, training, and technical support from the Korean partner.
The project aims to establish a European hub for K2 tank production and servicing in Poland, with first K2PL units expected by late 2028. Poland plans to acquire up to 1,000 K2 tanks, with more than 500 produced domestically.
