Developers collecting permits to build residential properties
Polish authorities issued building permits for 119,900 homes and apartments in the first five months of 2026, up 16.3% y/y, according to Statistics Poland. Developers drove the increase, receiving permits for 79,500 units, 21.7% more than a year earlier, while individual investors obtained 36,900 permits, up 10%. Completed housing remained weaker, with 76,200 units delivered, down 0.5% y/y, but Otodom expects completions to improve in the second half of the year due to projects started in 2024.
Oferteo.pl data also points to rising readiness among private investors, with 72% planning to begin construction within six months.
