Dutch fintech Adyen wants to shop for customers in Poland using AI
Dutch fintech Adyen is preparing for a future in which AI agents carry out shopping and payments on behalf of consumers. The Amsterdam-based company, founded in 2006 and now valued at around EUR 30 bln, processed EUR 1.39 tln in payments last year. Adyen has operated in Poland for five years and wants to become the leading payments player in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. It sees growth in unified commerce, cross-border sales and platforms that combine online and offline transactions in one system.
The company is also using AI to analyze transactions in real time, improve authorization rates and detect fraud. According to Adyen, agentic commerce could become a major shift in retail.
