EC approves takeover by Alstom of Bombardier's railway production division

The EC approved the acquisition by French Alstom of the Canadian railroad manufacturer Bombardier Transport on Friday. The French producer of high-speed trains TGV has agreed to sell some of its assets for the deal to be finalized, inter alia, one of the French railway factories and production plants in Hennigsdorf, Germany.
The acquisition would make Alstom the world's second largest rail producer after Chinese rival CRRC.
Alstom, based in France, is active worldwide in the rail transport industry. Bombardier Transportation is the railroad division of Bombardier, a Canadian-based industrial group active in the construction, real estate, telecommunications and media sectors. Bombardier Transportation is based in Germany.
Both companies are a long-live suppliers for Polish carriers.
