EC launches Access2Markets portal to support companies in international trade

The European Commission (EC) has launched the Access2Markets portal, containing information on duties, taxes, rules and product requirements for all EU countries and over 120 other markets around the world, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MRiR) said.

The new web portal connects the Market Access Database, the EU Trade Information Center and many other useful details. It offers comprehensive information on the rules for importing and exporting goods and services in trade with non-EU countries.

"The European Commission has launched the Access2Markets web portal to help small and medium-sized businesses operate outside the EU. The new platform is available in all EU languages," the release reads.

The new portal responds to stakeholder requests to better clarify trade agreements and help companies determine if their products qualify for lower tariffs. It will serve both companies that are already engaged in international trade and those that are just starting to discover opportunities in foreign markets.
