On Tuesday, the European Commission officially presented the list of candidates for commissioners, broken down by position. Poland's representative, former PiS MEP Janusz Wojciechowski, became a candidate for agriculture commissioner.
Margrethe Vestager from Denmark became the candidate for the position of the EC deputy head for digital affairs, and Frans Timmermans the candidate for the position of the EC deputy head for green governance. The Czech Viera Jourov is to take the position of Commissioner for Values, and Belgian Didier Reynders as Commissioner for Justice – both are to be responsible for the rule of law in the future EC.
The European Parliament will vote on the entire college of Commissioners. Before this vote, hearings of Commissioner candidates will take place in the relevant committees.
