Poland saw the second largest fall – by 2.5 percent y/y (in national currency) – in electricity prices for households of all the EU members in the second half of 2018 (after Latvia, which witnessed a 4.5 percent decrease), according to Eurostat data. The largest increases in electricity prices were recorded in Cyprus (19.6 percent), Spain (13.8 percent) and the Netherlands (9.7 percent). Eurostat data show that in H2 2018 the electricity price for households in Poland was €14 for 100 kWh, while the EU average was €21.1.
