Ex deputy minister accused of causing PLN 3 bln losses
On Tuesday, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Białystok accused former Deputy Finance Minister Maciej G. of failing to fulfill his duties and causing losses to the State Treasury, amounting to PLN 3 billion and resulting from unauthorized VAT refunds. The collected evidence clearly shows that Maciej G. committed a crime for which he could spend up to 10 years in prison, the National Public Prosecutor’s Office stated. In the years 2008-2015, Maciej G. was an undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Finance, supervising the work of the Department of Tax on Goods and Services.
