Fees for using ATMs will go up next year in Poland
From February 2026, cash withdrawals in Poland are expected to become significantly more expensive due to new fee structures introduced by Visa and Mastercard. Instead of a flat fee, banks will pay a fixed charge plus a percentage of the withdrawal amount, increasing costs especially for larger transactions. For a PLN 1,000 withdrawal, fees for banks will rise by over 50% compared to current rates. Since most banks transfer these costs to customers, higher ATM commissions are likely.
The biggest impact will be felt by users of Euronet and Planet Cash ATMs, which handle about 70% of all withdrawals nationwide. Regular cash users and those withdrawing large sums will be particularly affected.
