Food market growing and consumers paying less
Poland’s food processing industry increased revenue in Q1 2026, but profitability weakened as high labor, energy and service costs continued to pressure margins. Revenue rose 6.2 percent year over year to PLN 93.39 bln, while EBITDA fell 2.8 percent to PLN 7.94 bln and the EBITDA margin declined to 8.5 percent from 9.3 percent.
Oversupply is also affecting some segments. Higher EU milk production has driven down dairy prices, while pork producers face weaker Chinese demand and increased supply in Europe. Despite these pressures, the sector remains financially stable, with 85.4 percent of companies profitable and exports accounting for 30.4 percent of industry revenue.
