French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted on Saturday evening about the opening of the G7 summit in Biarritz. ”We may not accomplish everything we’ve set out to, but we’ll do our best to be effective to ensure your security, create more jobs and fight the inequality you are suffering. I’ll keep you posted on our progress,” Macron wrote on Twitter.
The Biarritz summit will last from August 24 to 26. Leaders of the USA, France, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Canada as well as the European Union will attend it. The leaders are to talk about challenges in the economy, foreign policy, and environmental protection. Combating inequalities will be the summit's theme. Discussions will concern, among others, relations with Iran, Russia, and North Korea.
