German arms company Renk planning to enter Polish market
Renk Group AG plans to enter the Polish market, CEO Alexander Sagel told Der Spiegel. The Augsburg-based defense supplier intends to expand service and assembly capabilities in Poland, initially focusing on maintenance of tank gearboxes, engines, and chassis, before launching production of military equipment for the region. Poland is seen as an ideal hub to support clients in Ukraine and the Baltic states, shortening repair times and boosting operational readiness. Over the next four to five years, Renk plans to invest €500 million in capacity expansion and R&D.
The company, which supplies firms such as KNDS and Rheinmetall, aims to significantly increase gearbox production by 2026.
