Germany’s rebound will prove positive for Polish industry
Preliminary February PMI data point to improving business conditions in the eurozone, with Germany recording a Manufacturing PMI of 50.7, its first reading above 50 since June 2022. The eurozone Composite PMI rose to 51.9. Economists at PZU note that Germany’s recovery, supported by infrastructure and defense spending, could signal a more durable rebound that may also benefit Poland’s industrial sector, given strong economic ties between the two countries.
German services PMI remained solid at 53.4, reinforcing signs of stabilization. However, risks remain. Companies report rising production and labor costs while facing pressure to lower prices. Firms appear more inclined to reduce employment slightly rather than expand hiring, raising concerns about the labor market outlook.
