5G, i.e. a new generation of the mobile network, compared to 4G / LTE is to create revolutionary possibilities, offering faster connections and greater network capacity. It will enable the creation of new services and business models, and will also allow the implementation of large-scale solutions based on the Internet of Things in areas such as smart cities or telemedicine. The competition in the 5G area is exacerbating, and the United States is trying to exclude Chinese suppliers of this technology from the global market. Some EU countries are following their example, including Poland, for which the USA is one of the main allies.
"Countries that impose restrictions on Chinese technology companies argue that they pose a threat to national security. In fact, the context is American. In short, good relations with the US are more important here than the possible benefits of cooperation with Chinese companies. Poland chooses the technology of the companies. European countries, which are simply more expensive. The problem is that this will translate into the prices of services in this area. It must be clearly said," prof. Edward Haliżak from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, said.
