Government gives PLN 4 bln to BGK Subsidy Fund for 18,000 apartments and dormitories
The Polish government has transferred over PLN 4 billion to the Subsidy Fund run by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, enabling the construction of more than 18,000 new municipal and social housing units and the modernization of student dormitories. Finance Minister Andrzej Domański described 2026 as a “year of acceleration” for housing policy. Next year, a record PLN 6.7 billion will be allocated to housing, supporting municipalities, social housing associations (TBS, SIM), and — for the first time — public universities. Additional funding will come from the Krajowy Plan Odbudowy, including energy-efficient housing projects.
New spending caps rising to PLN 10 billion by 2030 aim to ensure long-term, stable development of social and municipal housing.
