Greta Thunberg becomes Person of the Year in Time magazine

The American weekly Time named young Swedish activist fighting climate change Greta Thunberg the Person of the Year 2019. Thunberg will be 17 in January. In August 2018, she decided to protest before the Swedish parliament every Friday, appealing to the authorities for serious action in the fight against climate change. Her action turned into a global movement.
The weekly Time annually gives the title of Person of the Year to characters, groups or ideas that, according to the magazine, have had the greatest impact on current events. In 2018, the main prize went to murdered, imprisoned and persecuted journalists. In recent years, they have been awarded, among others former US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Pope Francis, and current US President Donald Trump.
