Swedish company Heimstaden Bostad, after entering the Polish market in December last year, is expanding its portfolio in the sector of residential premises for rent. Today the company has signed a purchase contract with the Marvipol development company. As part of it, Heimstaden will take over three new investments, which will be built in the Warsaw districts of Wola, Służewiec, and Włochy. Thanks to them, Heimstaden's offer will be extended to 647 modern apartments for rent, with the option of purchasing another 60 apartments. Projects located in Wola and Służewiec are already under construction. The first apartments should be ready this fall. The remainder will be commissioned in 2022.

“In December last year, we announced our first acquisition in Poland and pointed to the potential further expansion. Today we are delivering on that promise. Poland appears to us as a very attractive market. We currently have almost 1,350 apartments under construction for rent and we are looking for more opportunities. In our approach, it is important to have – control over the design and equipment of premises and common areas, which is why we prefer to invest in entire buildings intended for rent,” Stanislav Kubáček, who heads the CEE and Germany acquisitions team at Heimstaden, said.

Heimstaden Bostad bought new projects for PLN 380.9 million from the Polish developer, the listed company Marvipol, whose annual sale on the Polish market amounts to 1,000 apartments. Marvipol (which is a standard for this type of transaction) will execute the turnkey construction. As a result, Heimstaden Bostad will gain over 647 modern apartments and 11 commercial units with a total rentable area of over 30,000 m2, as well as 591 parking spaces over the next two years. The agreement also provides for the possibility of Heimstaden Bostad purchasing another 60 apartments in the investment in Służewiec. Future tenants will be able to rent flats of various sizes - from studios to three-room flats.

“We have an unflagging appetite for investments in the Central and Eastern Europe region, but nowhere can we do business without good support from local partners. We are all the more pleased that we have managed to find a great expert in the development sector and a trusted partner, which is the Marvipol company. We are convinced that we will be able to further develop our cooperation on the Polish market,” Stanislav Kubáček commented.
