Higher education institutions increasingly engage in fight against global challenges
"There are many challenges facing universities today, and they can be classified into several megatrends occurring throughout society," Prof. Dr. Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Leon Koźmiński Academy, said.
Among them are digital transformation, climate change, and sustainable social development, which will help reduce inequalities. To discuss the impact that higher education institutions can have on societies and support them in addressing current challenges, 700 rectors from around the world debated during a meeting in Valencia. In the adopted declaration, they committed, among other things, to consider global and local challenges in their research and equip students with the skills necessary to face these challenges in the future.
