Housing loan inquiries go up in November by more than 50% y/y
Interest in mortgage loans in Poland is rising again, driven by recent interest rate cuts. According to data from the Credit Information Bureau (BIK), the value of mortgage loan inquiries increased by 50.3% y/y in November 2025. Just over 37,000 people applied for home loans, marking strong annual growth despite a m/m decline linked to holiday weekends. The average requested mortgage rose to PLN 476,500, up 9.2% year on year and close to this year’s record level. Experts note that further rate reductions are likely to boost demand in the coming months.
With housing supply remaining high and prices stable, banks can expect continued strong growth in both mortgage demand and the value of loans granted.
