In May, Poles submitted a record number of credit applications

In May, Poles submitted 2.5 thousand credit applications each working day. This is the highest result for at least several years, experts pointed out in the HRE Investments’ analysis. They added that they were mostly for mortgage loans worth over PLN 800.
HRE Investments chief analyst Bartosz Turek noted in Tuesday’s analysis that in May alone, Poles submitted 47.6 thousand loan applications.
“This is admittedly less than in April (51,000) or March (56,000), but we should not forget that May was a rather short month - or maybe not so much short, but simply had fewer working days due to the May holiday,” he assessed.
According to analysts, the record-breaking demand for loans is a result of such factors as the rebound after the worse months of the past few years, increased optimism, and hope for a quick recovery of the economy and its further dynamic development. “As a result, a powerful group of Poles who have recently put off aspirations of owning their own property, today decide to buy them,” Turek pointed out. He added that banks have again opened up to the needs of borrowers.
