KIR: most transactions in euros settled with Germany, the Netherlands

During the first five months of this year, the Euro Elixir system recorded 3.4 million messages sent and 10.3 million messages received, which means that more transfers reach Poland from abroad than are sent from the country. The countries with which Poles exchange the most transfers in euros are Germany, the Netherlands, and France, the National Clearing House (KIR) has informed.
“The reasons for the growing number of transactions in euros can be found in the ongoing macroeconomic processes. Polish entrepreneurs conduct intensive commercial activities with European Union countries, which has a direct impact on the dynamics of the number of transactions processed in Euro Elixir,” commented Tomasz Jończyk, a director at KIR.
