Kraków implements a nighttime alcohol ban

From July 1, a nighttime prohibition is in effect in Kraków. Residents of Poland's second-largest city and tourists visiting it are not allowed to purchase alcohol in stores and gas stations after midnight. Kraków can certainly benefit from the ban on alcohol sales from midnight until 5:30 am.
Intoxicated tourists, mainly from the UK, have become infamous symbols of the city, causing disturbances during the night in the city center. Residents have repeatedly complained about noisy and intoxicated fellow residents, as well as tourists.
During the preparation of the nighttime alcohol ban project, public consultations and surveys were conducted among Krakow residents. The majority of them (54 percent) supported the ban on the sale of high-alcohol-content beverages during the night.
The ban applies to places where the consumption of purchased alcohol is not expected, including stores, supermarkets, and gas stations.
