After almost two years, the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) again granted TVN24 a broadcasting license. However, it preceded this decision by adopting a resolution which states that the station may not enjoy this license for too long.

According to the resolution adopted by the KRRiT on adjusting the ownership structure of television and radio stations to the applicable regulations, other channels belonging to the TVN group may have problems. If Discovery does not limit its shares (it cannot have more than 49 percent), the channels belonging to the group may not be granted a license. Meanwhile, the TVN7 license expires on February 22 next year, while the license for the main TVN channel – on April 14, 2024. The licenses for terrestrial channels can be easily withdrawn in the event of failure to comply with the resolution of the council.

“Of course we had a Dutch license before, but this is a Polish news station. We are proud to be the largest news station in our country. We wanted and we want to broadcast thanks to the Polish license,” Piotr Kraśko emphasized at the beginning of yesterday's Fakty po Faktach program.

The TVN24 journalist also pointed out that there were no formal reasons for not granting this license earlier than 594 days.
