Projections show that Emmanuel Macron has secured a clear victory over far-right rival Marine Le Pen. Emmanuel Macron, who was favorite to win, has secured a second term with 58 percent of the votes, projections show.

Meanwhile, Marine Le Pen received 42 percent of the votes, they say.

The results are the projections but these projections are considered ultra-reliable. In elections in Poland there is a different system. Here the pollsters carry out surveys of thousands of voters as they leave polling stations all over the country. But in France it's more of a real snapshot of what the result will be – projections using real results rather than purely exit polls.

It is worth recalling that in 2017 in the second round, Macron won against Le Pen by a ratio of 66.1 to 33.9 percent.
