mBank has introduced a mortgage loan with a fixed interest rate for 5 years, the bank said. The offer is available to new and existing customers who are already paying off a mortgage.

“Since 30 June this year, mBank’s mortgage loans for individuals for the purchase of residential real estate are also available with fixed interest rates. If the borrower decides on such a solution, for 5 years the amount of his installment will not be affected by the variable WIBOR rate. But during that time the variable interest rate will not be available either. Two months before the end of the 5-year term, the bank will present a new fixed interest rate for the next 5 years. The client will be able to use it or switch to a variable interest rate that depends on WIBOR”. - We read in the press release.

The fixed interest rate is also available to customers who already have a mortgage loan with the bank and meet the following conditions: there are at least 5 years and 2 months left to repay the loan; they have paid out all the tranches of the loan; they have not used any deferment of the installment repayment (e.g. credit vacations) and the loan is in PLN, it was stated.

The fixed interest rate is set individually, depending on the margin the borrower received when entering into the loan agreement. The change of the interest rate is free of charge and requires the conclusion of an annex to the agreement, which also does not involve fees, it was also indicated.

For both existing and new customers, the entire loan process can be done remotely. The client comes to the bank only to sign a ready-made agreement, it concluded.

mBank is one of the leading universal commercial banks in Poland. The strategic shareholder of mBank is German Commerzbank. The bank has been listed on the WSE since 1992. The bank’s total assets amounted to PLN 178.87 billion at the end of 2020.
