Municipalities employing eco-advisers carry out the replacement of polluting heaters more efficiently
Local governments are expanding their network of eco-advisers, specialists in air protection. In Małopolska, which initiated such official positions, the network already counts more than 230 experts. An eco-adviser advises residents on replacing heating sources and installing renewable energy sources or building thermal modernization, helps fill out often complex applications for funding for such investments, and then settles the subsidy. Statistics indicate that municipalities employing eco-advisers achieve better results in terms of replacing boilers than others.
"The financial support system is available, but its weakness is that it is slightly complicated. Although applications are often simplified, they are often too challenging for residents. The selection of an ecological source of heat, the correct one in terms of technical parameters for a given household, also often goes beyond their capabilities," Katarzyna Stadnik, Head of the Air Protection Team in the Department of Environment of the Małopolska Voivodeship Marshal's Office, said.
