If it is necessary to implement a national quarantine, it will be introduced in 7-14 days, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki informed. However, he expressed his belief that "it may be possible to avoid it".

"We have the last step ahead of us, which – if necessary – we will implement in 7 to 14 days – national quarantine, but it may be avoided. It depends on whether we are disciplined, whether we follow these basic rules, about which the medics tell us from the beginning of the pandemic: distance, mainly masks, disinfecting, continuous disinfecting hands," PM said.

Yesterday, the prime minister announced that if the number of new, confirmed cases of Covid-19 within 7 days in the country will be on the border of 70-75 per 100,000 people, the rules of national quarantine will be implemented, that is also restrictions on movement. However, if the number of cases is smaller, more than 25 but less than 50 per 100,000, it is possible to return to the rules of the red zones. If greater than 10 and less than 25 – then return to the yellow zones.

Today, the Ministry of Health announced 27,143 new cases of coronavirus infection, confirmed by positive laboratory tests. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 466,679 people have fallen ill in Poland. A total of 6,842 people died.
