Nitro-Chem signs contract with partner from USA to help produce missiles
Nitro-Chem has signed an agreement with General Dynamics and Paramount Enterprises International to develop production capabilities for Hydra 70 mm rockets in Bydgoszcz. The unguided air-to-ground rockets are used by military helicopters including the AH-64 Apache.
The project will initially focus on assembling rockets in Poland using components supplied from the United States. In later stages, production is expected to become increasingly localized, with Polish defense companies manufacturing components and eventually producing the rockets domestically. Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa said the Polish Ministry of Defence is expected to be the main customer, though exports to allied countries are also planned.
The rockets could also be adapted for precision strikes and low-cost anti-drone systems. The agreement is linked to Poland’s USD 10.8 billion purchase of 96 Apache AH-64E helicopters from the United States.
