Number of apartments commissioned increased 3.7% y/y in May
Poland completed 15,275 homes in May 2026, up 3.7% y/y but down 0.6% m/m, according to Statistics Poland. Homes built for sale or rent totaled 9,475, rising 1.9% y/y but falling 2.8% m/m.
In January–May 2026, 76,200 homes were completed, 0.5% fewer than a year earlier. Developers delivered 45,700 units, down 2.4% y/y, while individual investors completed 28,700, up 2.7% y/y.
Construction started on 20,406 homes in May, up 6.9% y/y but down 18.2% m/m. In the first five months of the year, starts totaled 94,700, broadly stable compared with 2025. At the end of May, 857,300 homes were under construction.
Building permits rose strongly. In May, permits were issued for 23,692 homes, up 13% y/y, while January–May permits reached 119,900, up 16.3% y/y.
