PAIH and DPD to create platform for Polish SMEs to expand abroad
The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and DPD Polska have launched a joint project — the platform czasnaeksport.eu — to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expand abroad. Research by DPD Polska shows that nearly 75% of SMEs see foreign sales as a growth opportunity, but only 29% actually export. Most exporters target EU countries (82%), while key barriers include high international shipping costs (59%), legal and tax complexities (47%), and risks of fraud or returns (47%).
DPD’s Łukasz Zębowicz emphasizes the vast potential of EU markets, home to 450 million consumers, 80% of whom shop online. Magdalena Skarżyńska of PAIH adds that with proper preparation, foreign expansion need not be risky. The new platform provides guides on currency risk, logistics, e-commerce tools, payment methods, and market insights to support Polish SMEs in going global.
