Part of the Photon Energy group, Photon Water, a water treatment systems development and distribution company, has entered into an agreement with the Australian Ministry of Defense to begin a trial phase of a PFAS (perfluorinated alkylated substances) removal program from the environment. This program aims to demonstrate the technology for removing PFAS from groundwater without the need for pumping, soil movement or disposal processes.

Australia's Ministry of Defense is working closely with industry partners and research units to better understand PFAS contamination and disposal options.

“Photon Water's strategy is to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions to remove PFAS from the environment. Removal of PFAS using in situ remediation is unique on a global scale and the cooperation with the Australian Ministry of Defense is aimed at demonstrating and verifying the technology, supporting the community and delivering an environmentally friendly and commercially ready solution,” Ian Phillipps, CEO of Photon Water Australia, commented.

Photon Water has made significant progress in the research and development of its own nano remediation technology. The technology is effective in breaking down PFAS in groundwater and includes patent-pending chemical programs, energy application and control systems.
