PKO Bank Polski conducts first contactless BLIK payment on iPhone
PKO Bank Polski has completed Poland’s first contactless BLIK payment on an iPhone, using its PKO Junior app for children under 13. The successful transaction marks the start of a pilot designed to test the full payment process and system integration before the service is expanded to all Apple users. PKO BP said the solution could be particularly useful for younger iPhone users who cannot access Apple Pay because of age restrictions.
However, the pilot does not mean an immediate commercial launch. BLIK operator Polski Standard Płatności and PKO BP still need to conduct further testing, optimization, and preparations for large-scale deployment. The service is therefore unlikely to become widely available for at least several months.
