The next 30 days are a key moment in the fight against the virus. The introduction of a state of national calamity would allow to minimize all unnecessary manifestations of public, professional and social activity and thus prevent the prolongation of the epidemic, explains the Supreme Medical Council (NRL), asking the prime minister to declare the state of the natural disaster.

In support of this position, it pointed to the growing statistics of infections, which indicate that our country is in the phase of dynamic epidemic spread. NRL has indicated that the next 30 days will be a key moment in the fight against the virus.

In addition, the NRL also pointed out that the experience of other countries in which the epidemic began earlier than in Poland, indicates that in order to completely extinguish its outbreaks, assembly restrictions, bans on organizing mass events should be maintained as long as new cases of illness are confirmed.

“In this situation, the Polish state will not be able to ensure its citizens' safety of life and health during the eighth-grade exams, high school-leaving examinations, as well as presidential elections, which should obviously lead to their postponement,” NRL explained in its appeal.
