PM Tusk says he will sit down with ministers to find solutions to short-term rental draft
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called for revisions to Poland’s proposed short-term rental law, arguing that the current draft does not sufficiently protect tenants or give local governments effective regulatory tools. The bill, approved by the government in July, would define short-term rentals as stays of up to 30 days, require all properties to be registered, introduce safety and operational rules, and impose fines of up to PLN 50,000 for violations. However, a provision allowing municipalities to create zones banning short-term rentals was removed.
Tusk instructed ministers to seek a compromise before Parliament considers the bill in September and requested a review of submitted amendments following allegations of potential conflicts of interest involving officials connected to rental properties.
