Poland, Ireland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia submitted to the European Commission a joint proposal of further sanctions against Russia, an EU source told PAP. The proposal includes an embargo on the import of LPG products from Russia and a ban on cooperation with Russia in the field of nuclear energy.
The project also includes a ban on the use of Kaspersky Lab technology in the EU, the further disconnection of Russian and Belarusian banks from the SWIFT system, and a ban on the sale and transfer of US dollars to Russia.
In addition, the countries want to extend the scope of the ban on entering EU ports by Russian ships and introduce a ban on the provision of information and communications technology (ICT) services to Russia.
Five countries also want to impose further sanctions on Belarus, including the import of furniture, cigarettes, and alcohol.
