Polish household financial assets reached a record PLN 4.102 bln at the end of March 2026, up 15.3% y/y, according to the Polish Development Fund. However, nearly 48% remains in cash and bank deposits, highlighting households’ preference for liquid, easily understood assets. Current deposits alone account for 26.3% of financial wealth, while cash represents 11.1%. Investment fund holdings and pension assets are growing rapidly, but direct stock market participation remains low by European standards.

Polish household net financial assets equaled 78% of GDP in 2025, well below levels in wealthier European economies. Despite rising wealth, Poland also remains among the EU countries with relatively low household savings rates.
