Poles increasingly willing to buy real estate abroad
Wealthy Poles are increasingly buying property abroad as part of long-term wealth management rather than simply for vacations or short-term rental income. Spain remains the most popular destination, with Poles purchasing 2,269 properties there in the first half of 2026, up nearly 9% y/y. Interest is also growing in Portugal, Italy, Croatia and Greece. Buyers increasingly prioritize geographic and currency diversification, family security, lifestyle, market liquidity and the ability to live between countries.
Premium clients tend to favor new developments, partly because properties can appreciate during construction. Portugal is seen as particularly promising due to its safety, infrastructure, stable economy and less saturated market. Europe accounts for about 99% of Partners International’s foreign-property sales.
