Polish households’ total financial assets reached a record PLN 4.10 trillion at the end of the first quarter of 2026, according to the Polish Development Fund (PFR). The figure was up 15.3% y/y and 4.3% from the previous quarter. The quarterly increase of PLN 168 billion was driven mainly by higher equity holdings and current-account deposits. Poles continue to favor highly liquid savings: current deposits accounted for 26.3% of household financial assets, cash for 11.1%, and pension entitlements for 10.6%.

Together, these categories represented 48.1% of total assets. Net household financial assets reached PLN 3.21 trillion, rising 18.4% y/y and 4.9% from the fourth quarter of 2025.
