Polish countryside is getting richer faster than cities

From the beginning of accession to the European Union until the end of 2019, Polish farmers have received 186 billion zlotys in direct payments. Experts point out that the Polish countryside is getting richer faster than the urban population. Agriculture on the Vistula still faces numerous problems, and the level of mechanization is lower than in the West.
Startups are also looking at the Polish countryside and farmers. Tomasz Snazyk, CEO of Startup Poland Foundation, says that the Foundation is currently working on a report analysing the Polish Agri Tech sector in more detail and its development prospects in the nearest future. He adds that Poland is the sixth-largest food producer among EU countries, but this position is mainly due to a well-developed processing sector.
