Lithuanian start-up Saltz has raised EUR 20 mln in a Series A funding round to expand its online platform for wholesale food trade. The investors include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, venture funds such as Inovo VC, which invested EUR 7 mln, as well as Lifeline Ventures and Change Ventures. Several tech entrepreneurs also joined the round, including founders linked to Vinted, Wolt and Shopify.

Founded in 2022, Saltz operates a B2B platform connecting restaurants with food suppliers by integrating product catalogs, orders, payments and logistics. The company aims to digitize the largely traditional wholesale food market, where many transactions still occur via phone or email. The new funding will support technology development, team expansion and further European growth.

One of the key investors is the Polish venture capital fund Inovo VC, which invested EUR 7 mln, making it the fund’s largest single investment.
