The Polonia Centre at Konwiktorska Street will have a new sports hall, stadium for over 15,000 spectators, sports support centre and a new city square with a fountain and cafes. The cost of the investment is over PLN 100 million.
Warsaw has secured in its budget an amount of 114 million zlotys which will be allocated for investments in the Polonia sports complex.
Next week we start negotiations with JSK Architekci. We plan to sign the contract at the turn of August and September. If everything goes according to our plans, we will start construction works in autumn 2023. - said during a press conference Deputy President of Warsaw Renata Kaznowska.
As part of the investment two buildings will be constructed - a sports hall, in which basketball matches will be played and stands for about 1 200 spectators, as well as the Sports Support Centre with additional sports areas. A parking lot with approximately 775 spaces is planned underneath. The facilities will be located between the stadium and Bonifraterska Street.
The Polonia stadium’s stands, in turn, will be able to accommodate more than 15,000 spectators. The investment also includes the construction of a new city square with a fountain and cafés. The Polonia sports complex will be built as part of public-private partnership.
