Poznań promotes itself as a "bee-friendly city"
Poznań became a honey producer. This year, the city apiary was launched for the first time. Although both this year's and the assumed amounts of the produced honey are rather small, the apiary is to prove that Poznań is bee-friendly.
“Obtaining honey is a side effect related solely to maintaining the proper condition of the bee family. The main task associated with maintaining the beehives is to show the inhabitants of Poznań that they live in a city that promotes healthy living conditions, harmonious coexistence of people, plants and animals in an urban environment,” Beniamin Chodorowski from the City Greenery Management Board explained.
