Prime Minister: attack on Ambassador Magierowski is unacceptable

Poland’s ambassador to Israel, Marek Magierowski, was on Tuesday attacked physically and verbally by a man in front of the building of the Polish diplomatic mission in Tel Aviv. “This is an unacceptable situation. We do not consent to any acts of xenophobia, both towards diplomats and other citizens,” Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Wednesday. The incident occurred amidst a diplomatic dispute between the two countries. Last week, a planned visit of an Israeli delegation that would be headed by Avi Cohen-Scali, the director general of the Ministry of Social Equality, was canceled at the request of the Polish government.
