2021 may turn out to be a record year for private equity funds in terms of funds allocated for investments. According to estimates by the consulting company Bain & Company, this year this group of investors will spend a total of over $1 trillion on acquisitions.
The revival is also visible in the Polish market – private equity funds made 20 investments against 12 in the same period last year. The companies from the technology, healthcare, logistics, and consumer goods sectors enjoyed the greatest interest of funds in Poland.
"At the height of the pandemic, hardly anyone expected the funds to return to the market so quickly. We notice a clear acceleration in concluding transactions also in Poland. The pace is impressive and we do not expect it to weaken in the second half of the year," Jacek Poświata, managing partner of Bain & Company Poland / CEE, said.
