Real estate in the hands of women. There were challenges, there are successes.

On August 30-31, at the Villa Foksal in Warsaw, the Top Woman in Real Estate Gala took place. The event summed up a year of struggles and successes of women who manage various areas of real estate. Statuettes were awarded in as many as 18 categories: from architecture and construction to sales, legal services, and innovation.

“The gala is the solemn culmination of 12 months of great cooperation between businesswomen – dozens of training and mentoring meetings, inspiring conferences, difficult moments, small and great successes of great women. And most of all – ladies offering mutual support in building a career path, so that they dare to act decisively, visionarily and effectively," Krystyna Swojak, initiator and organizer of the competition, monitoring program, and the Top Woman in Real Estate Gala, said.

To appreciate the changes

This year, over 120 participants entered the 4th edition of the competition. Their candidatures were evaluated by an independent jury consisting of presidents and managing directors of companies from the real estate and construction industry and the winners of the previous edition.

Two distinctions deserve special attention: Pro-women Company – a statuette for Greenberg Traurig Grzesiak and Best Team – a statuette for Panattoni. The awards for these companies show a real change of mind that is taking place in leading companies in the industry, towards the recognition of competencies and the role of women. Two consecutive distinctions are equally important: for Renata Kinde-Czyż from Metro Properties as Personality of the Year, and for Marzena Maj from Smay – Top Woman in Real Estate, selected in a vote by Internet users.

"Gender, nationality, or religion do not matter to us," says Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch, Head of Real Estate in Poland, Greenberg Traurig Grzesiak.

"We appreciate everyone who has knowledge, energy and the same values are important to them: trust, respect, and tolerance. And women are strong, decisive, empathetic, and play as a team, and I am very happy that this has been noticed by our community and rewarded," Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch adds.

"There are extremely ambitious and self-disciplined people in my team," says Anita Pietrykowska, Head of Marketing & Communications Europe, Panattoni.

"I have confidence in each of them. In addition to outstanding individuals, the awarded Best Team owes its success to favorable working conditions – it draws energy from Panatattoists, the amazing atmosphere in our company, willingness to cooperate, and a sense of mission in the organization."

An evening of open hearts

In total, over 240 people representing the real estate industry came to the Gala to personally congratulate the winners of each category in an atmosphere full of feminine warmth and elegance. They included representatives of key companies from the sector, as well as visionaries and mentors of the real estate market.

"I have been in the real estate industry for 24 years and this award has made my work noticed and appreciated. It is a great pleasure to receive congratulations from past and present bosses as well as colleagues," says Renata Kinde-Czyż, President of the Management Board of METRO PROPERTIES. "I believe in team balance and that the male and female elements complement each other fantastically. Only balance gives you a full perspective and allows you to take into account the interests of both women and men in property management. But isn't that obvious?"

As every year, a charity auction was held during the ceremony. This time, support was granted to the Foundation for Transplantation, which collects funds for devices that extend the transport of the heart intended for transplantation. In total, PLN 143,800 was collected. Among the gifts, the t-shirts of Iga Świątek, Wojciech Szczęsny, and Robert Lewandowski were the most popular, as well as cinema invitations to KINOGRAM and paintings by Witold Szamborski.

Mentoring above all

"The effect of the program that we are so excited about is a clear change in the perception of the experience and effectiveness of women by real estate industry leaders," says Krystyna Swojak.

Therefore, apart from the competition, an honorary distinction was also awarded: World Changer Company. It is an expression of the highest recognition for companies that support the Top Woman in Real Estate mentoring program, and thus they change the world for the better. These programs are especially important for women who draw inspiration from them to build their idea for a professional future. The golden statuette in this category was won by Panattoni, the silver one by Skanska, and the crystal one by Greenberg Traurig Grzesiak.

“I believe that the real estate industry in Poland creates great working conditions for women and men. There are no divisions here, and there are extremely interesting business fields to be developed in the field of design, construction, financing, legal services, or the analytics of real estate markets. It is a place where the most modern technological solutions as well as world trends in the field of running a business enter. Even though my children are still very young, this is a professional field that I will certainly recommend to them," concludes Anita Pietrykowska, Head of Marketing & Communications Europe, Panattoni.
