Rent for apartments in secondary market increasing
Demand for existing homes in Poland increased in July, while the number of properties listed for sale declined and average prices rose, according to GetHome.pl.
The number of second-hand homes on the market fell to about 137,000 from 140,000 in June. Although 32,500 new listings were added, 35,500 properties were sold or withdrawn, preventing supply from recovering. Warsaw’s inventory fell 4% m/m, while Katowice recorded an 8% decline.
Average asking prices increased in all seven major metropolitan markets analyzed, generally by about 1% m/m. Warsaw remained the most expensive at PLN 18,100 per sqm, while the Tricity recorded the strongest monthly increase, up 3% to PLN 17,300 per sqm.
Existing homes remained cheaper than new developer-built properties in every market, with discounts ranging from 1% in Krakow to 23% in Łódź.
