Report: every fifth Pole does not read contract before taking out a loan or credit

A study by UCE Research and SubiGo reveals that 68.3% of Poles review or consult credit or loan agreements, usually on their own (36.6%) or with family. Only 8% seek legal advice. Alarmingly, 20.1% never check the documents, citing lack of need, time, or trust in financial institutions. Experts warn that this approach is risky, especially for large or long-term loans, as contracts may contain hidden costs or unfavorable terms.
Younger, higher-income city residents are more cautious, while seniors and low-income groups review contracts the least. Poor financial education and complex language in agreements further worsen the situation, highlighting the need for greater awareness and legal consultation.
